SportAccord Convention 2011

David Eades discusses the role of sporting heroes in modern sport with a panel including Mihir Bose, distinguished journalist and author; Sir Clive Woodward, former England rugby captain and Director of Elite Performance for the British Olympic Association; Edwin Moses, American track and field athlete who won 2 gold medals in the 400 metre hurdles at the 1976 and 1984 Olympics; Dame Kelly Holmes, double Olympic medallist; and John Jackson, cristened ‘Chief Rotter’ and pioneer of new-side reporting of sport.

Originally launched in 2003, SportAccord International Convention is a 6-day gathering of more than 1500 leading representatives from international sport. It offers the sports family a powerful opportunity to come together on a global scale, in an exclusive and authoritative networking environment, to build relationships, share knowledge and develop ideas that will benefit the entire community.

The SportAccord Convention 2011 was held in London, April 3-8 2011, at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel.
